twostepcub's music chart for October 12, 2018...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 tunes from the previous week. Weezer's cover of a song that went to #1 on my chart way back 1983 (yes, I was doing this then) arrives on top, while Charlie Puth (pictured above) leaps into the top ten with the fourth single from his Voicenotes album. Former big hits from twenty-one pilots, Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa, and Eurovision winner Netta drop off my list, while songs from Ariana Grande, Panic At The Disco, and Elle King make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). Halloween's come early, and everything's scary!

Last week Cher had the biggest-selling album of the week (just sales, no streaming) with her ABBA tribute album Dancing Queen, and the 72-year-old diva lands the top debut of the week with "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" at #81. The song originally appeared on ABBA's Greatest Hits Vol. 2 album, reaching #3 on the British singles chart in 1979...

DJ/producer Marshmello teams up with British modern rock act Bastille for the single "Happier" which bounces in at #87. Mind you, you will need several tissues for the music video...

The second single from British alternative rock band Snow Patrol's The Wildness, "Empress", arrives at #94...

She's nominated for the third time to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and this week Janet Jackson drops on my list at #97 with "Made For Now" with Latin rapper Daddy Yankee...

Bebe Rexha, who is coming off a massive country crossover hit with her collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, "Meant To Be", is back at #99 on her own with "I'm A Mess"...

The final newbie of the week comes from veteran DJ/producer deadmau5 who slips in at #100 with "Monophobia" featuring vocals from Rob Swire, who also sang on his former big hit "Ghosts N Stuff" from 2009...
