Disco Dessert 10/8/18 - "Get Off" from Foxy...
"Get Off" was the biggest hit for funk/disco band Foxy, who formed in Miami under singer and guitarist Ish Ledesma. The title track of the their second album Get Off topped Billboard magazine's R&B track chart for two weeks, spending six months on the list. It also climbed to #9 on the pop Hot 100. On the magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks list, where it charted along with B-side "Tena's Song", it made it to #18 in 1978. The band went on to play as the studio band on the title track to ABBA's Voulez-Vous album in 1979. After Foxy broke up, Ish formed the band Oxo which had a top-40 hit in 1983 with "Whirly Girl", then later in the decade formed the HI-NRG/freestyle trio Company B, who also hit the top-40 with "Fascinated".
