Disco Dessert 10/10/18 - "Is It Love You're After" from Rose Royce...

"Is It Love You're After" comes from the R&B/disco group Rose Royce, who had scored a #1 pop hit with "Car Wash" in 1976. This nugget comes from their fourth studio record Rose Royce IV: Rainbow Connection, the band's last with lead singer Gwen Dickey. While somehow this song didn't make Billboard magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks chart, the single did climb to #31 on their R&B chart in 1979. A decade later, the song was interpolated by the cut-n-paste dance act S'Express for their seminal club hit "Theme From S'Express", which did end up going to #1.
