Willie Nelson - "Always Of My Mind" from the album Always On My Mind (1982) Billboard Hot 100 peak: #5 (three weeks) Weeks In The Top-40: 15 Today's song of the day is the classic cover of "Always On My Mind" my country legend/toker Willie Nelson . The song originally was written back in the early 70s, and released initially by pop/country ingenue Brenda Lee, who had only a minor hit with the single. That same year, Elvis Presley released the definitive version, having a top-20 country hit and a top-10 pop hit in Britain. "Always..." was the first single for Willie after his film Honeysuckle Rose , featuring his iconic hit "On The Road Again". But it was the cover of this song that gave Nelson his biggest solo hit by far, and won writers Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, and Mark James a Grammy for Song of the Year. The production, stark with just the piano prevalent and echoing backing vocals, gave his version a timeless and...

The biggest jumps are made by singles by Dev, Kelly Clarkson, and Colbie Caillat (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red ), while former big hits by Train, Alexandra Stan, Seether, and Bruno Mars drop off. Story of the day: Does anybody in DC get it?

Image
As the Washington media scrambles around the stupid non-story of the 60 minutes "laugh" meme-fest, just like the stupid fucktardery around the AIG bonuses shielding the public from the real issue at hand; that the economic team behind Obama is seemingly steering us into the same financial bubble shit that got us into this recession/depression/whatever we're in right now. Yes, I'm stupefied that someone I thought as populist savvy as the president would be so dismissive of the huge and warranted outcry over the fact that, whether it was money doled before his term or not, public money was used to give out bonuses to dickwads who wouldn't have even a regular paycheck if we just allowed AIG to go under. When your work produces a pile of dick, dick is what you deserve back. Welcome to the real world, where the ordinary guy doesn't get a perk just because . I don't want to hear any more sob fucking stories about how these tools are scared for their wives or th...

Story of the day...is nationalization so wrong now?

Image
So from what the American public is being told, after bailing out financial supernova AIG to the tune of 170 billion dollars, if we don't let them pay out bonuses to their employees in the division that totally fucked the company in the first place, they would be in some sort of default and the company would be under attack from any creditor and in kind putting customer taxpayers at risk for tens of billions more. This is crazy. We should just take over the damn thing and treat it like a possession. Spin off those shits into a division that will go bankrupt, and let them see if an unemployment check is better than not getting a bonus. And it's coming out worse and worse every day, with not even a promise to pay us back for the money we've siphoned in . Why isn't the government just going in and firing every single one of those executives. What value are they to the company, after being responsible for the largest quarterly loss in history . Extra credit: a good recap ...
