Sorry I've been absent. A short note why...

Hey folks, I really appreciate everyone who has come to my little corner of the interwebs these last 20 or so years. It's been a tremendously fun outlet for my music geekdom that I got to share, even if I (half) jokingly called it my "homework" every night. I had been doing a weekly music chart continuously since 1982, and transfering it online was letting in a part of myself that I kept to myself all through growing up.

But things had changed the last couple of years. Coupled with the endless circus we've endured the last ten years thanks to that fascist reality-show nutcase, what was considered "popular" music had become more and more processed and simply unlistenable. I guess my breaking point was that K-Pop Demon Hunters drivel, which if it wasn't pure AI sure as hell felt like AI. "Baby Shark" was more organic that that, and this is from a long-time admirer of the genre. (Well mostly). Also, the transformation of those big names I did enjoy turning into cultist drivel, like Nate Smith and Jelly Roll, really soured me on things. I've regressed into not listening to all the latest chart singles, and resting with the oldies for quite a while (though some shining stars like RAYE were able to break through, with "Where Is My Husband" my favorite new song from last year).

do miss it, but I don't want to be forced back into it without my heart being into it. I do hope sometime this year to dip my toes back, but this extended break did clear my mind thankfully. (Especially miss my "songoftheday" with my OCD brain clamouring to return, maybe that will be back sooner.

In the meantime, I wanted to say how much it meant that people read my little screeds and followed my charts for so long.  I haven't gone away for good, but I can't say for certain when I'll be back, but I promise to check in more before I do

thank you
