" Did You Ever Think " - R. Kelly featuring Nas from the album R. (1998) Billboard Hot 100 peak: #27 (one week) Weeks in the Top-40: 6   Today's song is from singer/songwriter/producer /convicted sex felon R. Kelly, who's third solo album R. had already spun off a #1 pop hit with his duet with Celine Dion, " I'm Your Angel ", and the  top-40 follow-up " When A Woman's Fed Up " at the start of 1999. At the same time, the album track " Half On A Baby " got enough radio airplay to spend a few weeks on Billboard magazine's R&B chart, peaking at #61, while making the top-40 in the UK (#16), New Zealand (#18), the Netherlands (#19), and Germany (#38). The next single in America from the set would be "Did You Ever Think". Written and produced by Kelly and the Trackmasters (Jean-Claude "Poke" Olivier and Sam "Tone" Barnes) with Tone providing the spoken chorus on the album, the song is your ru...

" When A Woman's Fed Up " - R. Kelly from the album R. (1998) Billboard Hot 100 peak: #22 (two weeks) Weeks in the Top-40: 13   Today's song comes from R&B singer/songwriter/producer/alleged sex criminal R. Kelly, whose third solo album R. had granted him a #1 hit with his duet with Celine Dion, " I'm Your Angel ", in December of 1998. That same week, another album cut, " Home Alone " featuring rapper Keith Murray, entered the Hot 100, where it peaked at #65, then on the R&B chart, where it made the top-40 at #22. Later that month, another song from R. , "When A Woman's Fed Up", entered the list as well. Written and produced by Kelly, it's a downtempo groove that clearly tries to emulate the sound the his former (child) wife Aaliyah was creating with Timbaland and Missy Elliott. Told from the perspective of a man who's done his woman wrong and being kicked out of the house (name-checking Erykah Badu's ...

" Your Body's Callin' "  - R. Kelly from the album 12 Play (1993) Billboard Hot 100 peak: #13 (two weeks) Weeks in the Top-40: 15 Today's song of the day comes from R&B singer/songwriter/producer/litigant R. Kelly , whose second album 12 Play , the first to be credited just to himself, had already spun off two big pop hits with " Sex Me " and the #1 "Bump N' Grind", the latter hitting the top of the American pop chart in the spring of 1994. While "Bump N' Grind" was climbing the charts, another album track, " It Seems Like You're Ready ", gained enough airplay to appear on both the pop (#59) and R&B (#21) airplay charts in Billboard magazine without having to be issued as a physical single. The actual third single release from 12 Play would be the smooth midtempo booty call jam "Your Body's Callin'". Written and produced by Kelly, it became another huge hit, especially in the ...

" Bump N' Grind " - R. Kelly from the album 12 Play (1993) Billboard Hot 100 peak: #1 (four weeks) Weeks in the Top-40: 23 Today's song of the day comes from the 90s R&B star that now has become one of the most controversial people in music today, R. Kelly , who had led off his sophomore album 12 Play (his first without backup act Public Announcement) with the salacious single " Sex Me ", which reached the top 20 on the pop chart and top ten on the R&B chart at the end of 1993. Also during that time his remake of the Spinners' soul classic " Sadie " from the album had gotten enough airplay to make #56 on the R&B Airplay chart and spend four months on the list.  But it was the second proper release from the album that would become the singer/songwriter/producer's biggest hit of his career. "Bump N' Grind" basically finished off where "Sex Me" began, in the bedroom... "Bump N' Grind...

Cee U Next Tuesday winner of the week....Shalom-Wow!

Image
This week's Cee-U-Next-Tuesday award recipient, for female excellence in the male-dominated field of douchebaggery, goes to California Republican gubernatorial candidate Carly "I Fucked Up IBM, so vote me in!" Fiorina, for sending out a Passover letter to her supporters which read ... This week, as we break bread and spend time with our families and friends, I hope we also take a moment to say a word of thanks for our freedom and for those who have given their lives in freedom's name. Let us also look ahead with hope to the opportunities to come. um, yeah. Carly Simonona? The basis FOR Passover was that they don't have bread, in honor of the Jews fleeing Egypt who couldn't wait for the bread to rise. Why don't you just tell them to enjoy the ham, as well? And instead of just apologizing, she releases a pandering followup email saying she meant ALL bread, including Matzo. Yeah. because saying "matzo" would possibly offend your Jesus Freaks yo...

With all the focus in the "all flirt no substance" performances Sarah Palin has been putting on lately, it's easy to neglect the army of Manchurian sexbots that the Republican party have been accumulating as their plan for a new wave of ascendancy. This includes cougar whackjobs like Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota (fun fact - if you Google "Minnesota Congresswoman Whackjob" her official site is the first entry), Marsha "I'm waiting for my Desperate Housewives cameo" Blackburn, and former Miss I-Will-Never-Concede Marilyn Musgrave. However, the GOP is growing a bench of himbos as well, cut from the Mitt Romney mold but with more of the hunk and less of that pesky Mormonism. One of their brightest upcomers (pun intended) is Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock (pictured above apparently on a break from his beer commercial audition tape). Before the nude model from Massachussetts stole his thunder, Schock was considered so much a hottie that even the ga...

cee u next tuesday award for the w-w-w-weak....

Image
This weeks winner of the Cee U Next Tuesday award for female excellence in the male-dominated field of douchebaggery is BET co-founder Sheila Johnson , who was caught at a fundraiser for Republican Virginia gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell making fun of opponent Craig Deeds for a stutter. As a person similiarly affected (though tamed through a lot of therapy and practice), I say this to this shill of bad sitcom reruns and bad music shows.... F-F-F-F-Fuck you, bitch. For this, you win this weeks C-U-N-T award, which you can directly shove in your mouth to plug the thing up already.

Just a thought, Chris...

Maybe you should just STFU and let wedding parties do your publicity. Here's Chris Brown explaining to Larry King how he can't believe he did all those nasty things to Rihanna, and still luvs her. Yeah. Right. Embedded video from CNN Video
