Sorry I've been absent. A short note why...

 Hey folks, I really appreciate everyone who has come to my little corner of the interwebs these last 20 or so years. It's been a tremendously fun outlet for my music geekdom that I got to share, even if I (half) jokingly called it my "homework" every night. I had been doing a weekly music chart continuously since 1982, and transfering it online was letting in a part of myself that I kept to myself all through growing up. But things had changed the last couple of years. Coupled with the endless circus we've endured the last ten years thanks to that fascist reality-show nutcase, what was considered "popular" music had become more and more processed and simply unlistenable. I guess my breaking point was that  K-Pop Demon Hunters  drivel, which if it wasn't pure AI sure as hell  felt  like AI. As I am counting down the biggest hits of year from my personal chart in these last weeks of the year, let me take a detour to run down the top 100 from this past week (the first "chart week" of 2019). Marshmello & Bastille finally make it to the top spot, while Jimmie Allen (pictured above) shoots his way into the top five. Songs from Nathaniel Rateliff, Death Cab For Cutie, and Ella Mai make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red ), while former big hits from Cher, Post Malone, Selena Gomez, and Sabrina Carpenter fall off my chart . When I was a kid, I was freaked out by hair salons because the word "unisex" was always plastered all over. I mean imagine being like 8. What does that mean? What horrible things do they do to you for 15$? Do you really see that word anywhere else? It gave me the willies.
