"Matteo" is the first single from Polish/English jazz-pop singer Basia's new album Butterflies. Based on a guitar instrumental called "Momentum" by her tour guitarist, Giorgio Serci from Italy, and named for his son, Matteo, the bossa nova track is a welcome track for a breezy autumn walk. Basia wrote the lyrics and produced the song with longtime partner Danny White. In 1987, she hit the top-40 with "Time and Tide" (#26), then again in 1990 with "Cruising For Bruising" (#29).
