Songoftheday 10/10/18 - Boy there you go you're telling me that you love me, but boy you know that you belong to another girl who loves you...

"I'm So Into You" - SWV
from the album It's About Time (1992)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #6 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 21

Today's song of the day comes from the R&B trio Sisters With Voices, or SWV, who came together in the early 1990s in New York, with lead singer Coko, Taj, and Lelee getting signed by RCA and releasing their first album It's About Time in 1992. Their first single, "Right Here", was a moderate R&B hit, reaching #13 on Billboard magazine's genre chart, and popped on to the pop Hot 100 at #92. But with their second release, the mid-tempo new jack-ish swing single "I'm So Into You", they broke through big on mainstream radio. Written and produced by Brian Alexander Morgan, the bouncy fun love song followed the likes of Mary J. Blige and Jade into the charts...

"I'm So Into You" became SWV's first top-40 pop hit, reaching the top ten in May of 1993. The song spent a month (four weeks) at #2 on Billboard's R&B chart. Internationally, the single made the top-40 in the UK (#17) and Australia (#40), and just missed the mark in New Zealand (#42) and the Netherlands (#45). In 1994, the trio was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist, losing out to Toni Braxton.
