"I Hear Music In The Streets" was the first and biggest club hit for R&B group Unlimited Touch, who came together in New York in the early 1980s with lead singer Audrey Wheeler. Taken from their debut album Unlimited Touch, the Chic-like song, paired with B-side "In The Middle" on the chart, peaked at #6 on Billboard magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks list, spending a whopping 38 weeks on the tally in 1980 through 1981. The song also climbed to #33 on the R&B list as well. The band split in 1984.
