Today's song of the day comes from the hip-hop/R&B trio TLC, whose debut album had already spun off a trio of top ten pop hits with "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "Baby-Baby-Baby", and "What About Your Friends". The fourth and final single released from the set would be the bouncy new jack fashion statement "Hat 2 Da Back". Written by producer Dallas Austin along with member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes along with Kevin Wales, the street and radio friendly cut sported a video that had kid rap duo Kris Kross making a cameo...
"Hat 2 Da Back" became TLC's fourth top-40 pop hit in March of 1993. The song also climbed to #14 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart. Internationally, the single reached #22 in New Zealand.
