"They Only Come Out At Night" was a big club hit for soul/pop singer/songwriter Peter Brown. Appearing on his album Snap, the song was written and produced by Brown, and mixed by "Jellybean" Benitez. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-80 chart, it spent a week at #1 in 1984. Later that year, Brown would co-write a song for one of Jellybean's protege's, Madonna. That would be her 1985 #2 hit "Material Girl".
