twostepcub's music chart for June 28, 2019...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit"* tunes from the previous week. Scottish newcomer Lewis Capaldi takes over at #1, while the Lumineers (pictured above) make a giant leap into the top ten. Songs from Katy Perry, AJR, and Maddie Poppe make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Imagine Dragons, Calvin Harris/Rag N' Bone Man, Old Dominion, Sigrid, Scotty McCreery, Jade Starling, and Oliver Heldens drop out. Happy Pride Weekend, New York!

*generally meaning making the top-15 on the Hot 100, top-30 on the Adult Top-40 chart, top-20 on the Country Airplay and Dance Club Play charts, top-10 on the Rock Airplay, Alternative, Triple A, Dance Airplay, British singles and British Radio Airplay charts, and top-5 on the Mainstream Rock and Adult R&B charts, and #1 on the Adult Contemporary and R&B/Hip Hop Airplay charts.

Along with three big re-entries there are ten song making their debut on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them, you'll connect to that artist's official website for more information, tour dates, pictures, news, and more. And here they are on video, after the break...

Singer/songwriter Halsey, whose former big hit "Without You" is still in the top-40 at #24, claims the top debut of the week at #72 with "Nightmare"...

Greek/Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike race in at #73 with "Selfish" featuring Kosovar singer Era Istrefi...

Ingrid Michaelson, the adult-pop singer/songwriter whose ninth studio album Stranger Songs was released today, comes in at #76 with the first single from the set, "Missing You"...

The title track and fourth single from country rocker Jason Aldean's latest album Rearview Town back into the spot at #92...

The second offering from neo-metal band Papa Roach's Who Do You Trust? album, "Elevate", rises to #93...

Neo-traditionalist country singer Justin Moore rolls in at #95 with "The Ones Who Didn't Make It Back Home". It's from his upcoming Late Nights and Longnecks album...

This is a really slow week in music, with a lot of singles on multiple charts clogging the gears, and "hit" songs that normally would fall under my top 100 have nothing to do but rise up. Such is the case with rapper Post Malone's top ten pop hit "Wow", which finally shows its face at #97. His collab "Sunflower" from the Into The Spiderverse animated movie previously climbed to #13 on my list earlier this year...

Actor/singer Rilan, who had been a cast member on Glee, lands his first club hit at #98 with "Love Or Drugs"...

And yeah, speaking of how slow the charts are, the current Hot 100 pop hit, "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, defaults itself on to the chart at #99...

And lastly, the only song that could rate lower than "Old Town Road" slips in at #100 as Ed Sheeran decides to collaborate with Justin Bieber on "I Don't Care"...
