"Rapper's Delight" was a huge and important rap and dance hit for the Sugarhill Gang. Appearing on their debut album Sugarhill Gang, the track was laid on a sample of Chic's disco classic "Good Times", with verses written by members Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Big Bank Hank. On the Disco Top 100 in Billboard magazine, the single climbed to #14, while on their R&B chart the track peaked at #4 and was a pop Top-40 hit at #36.
