"Check Out The Groove" was a club hit for singer and percussionist Bobby Thurston. Born in Washington, DC, Bobby worked at the State Department while he was trying to get his music career going with the group Spectrum, Inc., before going solo, where he released this single from his album You Got What It Takes. Listed as the "B-side" of the 12" single of "You Got What It Takes", the two songs written by producer Rodney Brown along with Willie Lester climbed to #5 on the Disco Top 100 chart in Billboard magazine in 1980. Meanwhile the A-side went to #78 on the R&B chart in America...
