Soul Sweep: June 9th, 2012...
And here's a rundown of the new songs hitting Billboard magazine's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Adult R&B charts this week.
R. Kelly comes in at #64 on the main R&B list and #32 on the Adult chart with the smooth retro "Feelin' Single" - damn I hate that I like this so much...
Philly rapper Meek Mill debuts at #67 with the mixtape track "Amen" featuring Drake and Jeremih - wow the F word and "church". With organs. It happened. DEFINITELY NSFW.
You can't escape Rihanna, and she's in at #68 with "Where Have You Been"...
Rapper Birdman smokes in at #87 with "Born Stunna" featuring Rick Ross...I COULD NOT GET THROUGH THIS. But if you like boobies and gold bars, here's your pick...(NSFW)
Ludacris previews his upcoming CD Ludaversal with "Jingelin" at #90...(NSFW)
Rick Ross also debuts as a lead artist at #91 with "So Sophisticated" featuring Meek Mill (what, are there like only 5 acts out there now?)...(NSFW)
and lastly, a little less heavy, but still NSFW Tito Lopez comes in at #95 with "Mama Proud"...
Now over the the more serene Adult R&B list, Angie Stone is back at #38 with "Do What You Gotta Do"...
And to end this on a big positive note, one rung under at #39 is William McDowell with "I Won't Go Back"
Groove On...
