Disco Dessert 3/9/21 - "Funk De Mambo (Dance To The Music)" by Karma...
"Funk De Mambo (Dance To The Music)" was a club hit for the jazz-funk group Karma, which had many of the big session players of the time along with such singers as Deniece Williams and Syreeta. Appearing on their first album Celebration, the song was written by the group's keyboardist Reggie Andrews, bassist Curtis Robertson, and drummer Josef Blocker. Later in the 1980s, Andrews would go on to co-write the Dazz Band's top-5 pop hit "Let It Whip". On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the single peaked at #10 in 1977.
