"Free Me From My Freedom/Tie Me To A Tree (Handcuff Me)" was a club hit for R&B/dance singer Bonnie Pointer, who just passed away at the age of 69. Appearing on her 1978 debut album Bonnie Pointer, the two-part medley song was written by Bonnie with Angelo Bond and Truman Thomas, and produced by Motown head Berry Gordy and Jeffrey Bowen. On Billboard's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the "Free Me From My Freedom..." single peaked at #26 in 1979, while making it to #10 on their R&B chart.
