"Get Down" was a club and radio hit for R&B singer Gene Chandler, best known as the voice behind the oldies classic "Duke Of Earl". Appearing on his album Get Down, the song was written by James Thompson and produced by Carl Davis. On Billboard's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the single peaked at #22 in 1979, while going as high as #3 on their R&B chart.
