Songoftheday 4/17/19 - Take my money my house and my car, for one hit of you you can have it all...
"Feenin'" - Jodeci
from the album Diary Of A Mad Band (1993)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #25 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 8
Today's song of the day come from the R&B vocal group Jodeci, whose sophomore album Diary Of A Mad Band broke them from the new jack swing mold and scored a top-40 pop/#1 R&B hit in the beginning of 1994 with "Cry For You". The follow-up single has them swaying back and forth like a crackhead with "Feenin'". Written and produced by the group's DeVante Swing (Donald DeGrate), the song is a meld of Silk's "Freak Me" and Roger Troutman's vocoder excursions, based on the slang term for addictive urges...
"Feenin'" became the second top-40 pop hit from Diary Of A Mad Band in April of 1994. The song also spent a week at #2 on the R&B chart in Billboard magazine. Internationally, the single was their second consecutive top-20 hit in the UK at #18. A third single from the record, the ballad "What About Us", climbed to #14 on the R&B chart, but missed the pop Hot 100 by one notch, appearing on the "Bubbling under" chart in Billboard at #101.
