Disco Dessert 4/6/19 - "The Love I Lost" from Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes...

"The Love I Lost" was a pre-disco club hit for the soul group Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, featuring lead singer Teddy Pendergrass. Appearing on their album Black & Blue, the song was written by Philadephia International studio producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Although it was released way before the dawn of the Disco chart in 1973, the two-part single topped the R&B chart in Billboard magazine for two weeks, and peaked at #7 on the pop Hot 100.
