"Gimme Some More" was an R&B hit that was one of the first precursors of the disco genre way back in 1972. The single was released from the J.B's, which featured Fred Wesley, James Brown's musical director, as well as many players in Brown's band like Maceo Parker. Appearing on their album Food For Thought, the mostly-instrumental track climbed to #11 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart, and was a minor pop hit at #67.
