Disco Dessert 12/4/18 - "You + Me = Love" from the Undisputed Truth...

"You + Me = Love" was a song from the Undisputed Truth, who were put together by Motown producer and writer Norman Whitfield. Led by singer Joe Harris, the act had a top ten pop hit in 1971 with "Smiling Faces Sometimes". After a series of personnel changes the group, still with Harris remaining as the sole original member, moved over to Whitfield's own label Whitfield Records in the mid-1970s. "You + Me = Love", written and produced by Whitfield, appeared on their first album on the label, Method To The Madness, and featured Chaka Khan's sister Taka Boom on lead vocals. The single climbed to #37 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart and #48 on the pop Hot 100, with "B-side" "Let's Go Down To The Disco" charting at #68 on the R&B list on its own. The two songs appeared separately on the 12" record-driven Disco/Dance Tracks chart, with "You + Me" hitting #5 in 1976, and "Let's Go Down" slipping in for a week at #40.
