Disco Dessert 12/3/18 - "Tangerué'" by Tangerué...

Tangerué was a studio band put together by guitarist Bruce Weedon and keyboard player Ed Strauman, who met when both were working for disco producer Boris Midney, who had scored a truckload of club hits under many monikers like Beautiful Blend and the USA-European Connection. Moving to Philadelphia and dubbing themselves Tangerué (pronounced almost like the gin Tanqueray), the pair released only one self-titled album of orchestral-style disco with four tracks, half with female vocals thrown in, but it was a little wonder. It never reached the Disco/Dance charts in Billboard magazine, but it was an underground classic among many influential DJs.
