"The Hustle" was a #1 pop and R&B hit in America for songwriter, producer, and musician Van McCoy. A recording artist since his teens, McCoy recorded the song, named after the disco "line/partner dance", for his album Disco Baby. The track climbed to #3 on Billboard magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks chart, his biggest hit by far - sadly, Van died of a heart attack by the end of the decade. But this epic slice of instrumental groove, included in the movie Saturday Night Fever, will always live on.
