"Shame" was the breakthrough single from secretary turned disco star Evelyn "Champagne" King. Appearing on her first album Smooth Talk, the song climbed to #8 on Billboard magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks chart in the beginning of 1978, spending seven months on the list. The single also went to #9 on the pop chart and #7 on the R&B tally as well.
