twostepcub's music chart for August 10, 2012...

Hey guys, thanks for dropping by, it's time for this week's list of my top-100 tunes. Carly Rae Jepsen spends a ninth week at the top, while Katy Perry (pictured above) puts her 8th single from her Teenage Dream album (well, the reissue) into my top-10. Songs by Florence + The Machine, Little Big Town, and fun make the biggest jumps on my chart (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits by Luke Bryan and Adele drop out (making this an Adele-less list for the first time since the debut of "Rolling In The Deep"). Link-o-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on any of the highlighted artists' names to connect to their website. Tally ho!

There are eight new songs on this weeks chart (highlighted in green), and here they are, along with a little about the artist with links to their previous hits on video in purple...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The highest debut this week is the pairing of this week's #1 artist (Carly Rae Jepsen) along with one-man act Owl City, who had a #1 hit a couple years back with "Fireflies". They team up for the summery "Good Time"...

Punk-pop kings Green Day return with the first single from their planned three-record release this year, with "Oh Love", their first time on here since 2009's "21 Guns". It already tops the US rock charts...

The third act in a row to have had their last big hit in 2009, dance-punkers the Gossip had a worldwide hit then with "Heavy Cross".  They're back with a track that's already been to the top-10 on the US dance chart, "Perfect World"...

And what do you know, Nelly Furtado had her last hits in 2009, with her Brazilian-tinged "Manos Al Aire" and collaboration with Timbaland, "Morning After Dark". Her new one hasn't got love on pop radio yet, but it's burnin' in the clubs, "Big Hoops (The Bigger The Better)"...

To break the streak, returning after a break of almost ten years is punk/ska/rock quartet No Doubt, with "Settle Down". Their last, a remake of Talk Talk's "It's My Life", was a top-10 pop hit in the US...

Hard rock band Shinedown, from Florida, have their fourth Mainstream Rock #1 in a row with the second single from their latest album Amaryllis (after the awesome "Bully") with "Unity"...

Country A-lister Jason Aldean previews his upcoming Night Train album with a song aiming to repeat the #1 success of his last, "Fly Over States", "Take A Little Ride"...

...and lastly, British X Factor fourth-place finisher Cher Lloyd gets her third hit on my list with her first American hit, after two top-5 UK singles, including the #1 "Swagger Jagger". Her US top-20 record is "Party In The USA", erm,"Want U Back"..

That's it for now, stay tuned tomorrow for this weeks five-part "chart sweeps" of the new music on Billboard magazine's pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance charts. Cheers!
