Dance Sweep: August 11, 2012...
Hey guys, we're down to the last part of this week's "Chart Sweeps" of the music recaps of Billboard magazine's charts. This time out it's the latest on the Dance Club Play, Dance Mixshow/Airplay, and Global Dance Songs lists.
On Billboard's Club Play chart, Kylie Minogue scores another #1 hit with "Timebomb" (hooray!)...
The highest debut at #30 is a viral sensation by the extra-fab Scissor Sisters, who last week scored a top-5 club hit with "Only The Horses". That song is great, but you can't stop the juggernaut that is "Let's Have A Kiki", which I predict will become their third dance #1 after "Filthy/Gorgeous" and "Fire With Fire"...
The new Rebecca Black is here, and it's in the form of newcomer Adriana Rubiano, who popped in seemingly from some Real Housewives franchise onto the DJ list at #43 with "Let's Get It Started (Tonight)"...
Karmin follow up their #1 club hit "Brokenhearted" with the title track from their album Hello at #49...
Meanwhile over on the Dance Airplay/Mixshow list, Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo stay on top for a fifth week with "Let's Go", while the one new entry is at #22, rapper Flo Rida with "Whistle"...
And over on the Global Dance Songs list, surprisingly there are no debuts (though four songs re-enter), and Rihanna stays on top for a second week with "Where Have You Been"..
That's it for today's "chart sweeps", stay tuned tomorrow for part one of my "Album Sweep" of the records selling out there, and the latest hitting in Britain in the evening. Boogie on!
