Soul Sweep: September 1, 2012...






It's time for part three of this week's "chart sweeps" of the latest music on Billboard magazine's weekly charts that sample radio and track sales online and in stores. This time out it's the latest on the R&B/HipHop and Adult R&B radio lists.

On the main R&B/HipHop chart, 2 Chainz' "No Lie" spends a third week at the top.

Singer/songwriter Trey Songz' fifth album came out this past Tuesday, and is appropriately titled Chapter V. The third song from the set to make the US R&B chart, "Hail Mary", featuring rappers Young Jeezy and Lil' Wayne, is the highest entry this week at #77. He's previous topped this chart with "I Invented Sex" in 2009 and "Can't Be Friends" a year later...

Chris Brown returns at #85 with the fourth single to make the R&B chart from his latest album Fortune, "Don't Judge Me". He's topped the list four times, from his debut single "Run It" back in 2005 to "Look At Me Now" from last year...



Rapper Beatking charted 2 minor singles in 2011, and he's back at #96 with his newest, "U Ain't Bout That Life"...


DC rapper Wale's "Lotus Flower Bomb" ruled the R&B chart for five weeks at the beginning of this year, and he's currently at #2 on the list supporting Rick Ross on "Bag Of Money". That latter song is from the compilation album Self Made Vol 2, as is "Actin' Up" at #97, featuring Meek Mill and French Montana...


Singer Tank previously peaked at #2 on the main R&B chart in 2007 with "Please Don't Go", and he's in at #99 with a song he put on the Adult R&B list last week, "Compliments" featuring rapper T.I. and newcomer Kris Stephens...


Meanwhile over on the Adult R&B specific radio list, Anthony Hamilton's "Pray For Me" takes over the top spot.

The high entry here is by singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, with "Lazy Love". It's already on the top-30 of the main R&B list. He's previous had two top-10 hits on the Adult R&B chart, "So Sick" and "Sexy Love", both in 2006...


Savannah, Georgia native Anthony David's "4Evermore" peaked at #2 on this chart last year, and he returns at #37 with "Sweet Pain"...
