About this chicken sandwich business...

It's not that the CEO of a company has a personal opinion that I don't agree with. For real, going down that road, Dan Cathy insulted not only the GLBT community, but anyone else who isn't married to their first wives. Remember, he boasted about that as the centerpiece of his nefarious self-righteous quote that grew this meme. But that just means that a great amount of people in line today for a fried sandwich are oblivious that he basically thinks you're trash. But whatever. Lots of people who run business are self-righteous loons. Hell, look at the crazy dolt who runs Whole Foods, John Mackey. He's been much more vocal about his opposition to healthcare reform, unions, and all that other Libertarian bullshit, and tons of gay people still sashay around that organomart.

What's got me and a ton of others' panties in a knot is the blatant use of company profits and resources to campaign, promote, and insert themselves into the equality debate. Organization such as the Family Research Council, which exists solely to deny rights to other citizens, not only get millions of dollars from the company (not the CEO, but the company's fraudulent "charitable arm" Winshape and the company itself), but the company provided food pro bono to groups promoting nothing but the pursuit of hate, intolerance, and inequality. Not to mention their funding of screwball sham artists like Exodus International, who profit from the exploitation of confused and vulnerable youth.

Knowing this, it's only logical for me and many other GLBTs and their allies to decide and canvass each other to not patron the place, just as it's just as valid for those opposed to boycott Oreo or JC Penney or whomever. I have a choice, and simply choose not to frequent the joint. Besides they're shitty food anyway. Just like I stay clear of Walmart unless it's the last resort (meaning maybe one time a year) because of their work practices and economic consequences to the area. That's everyone's choice, I don't have to force you to do it, but at least I can make the effort and try to educate.

I think what turned this into a circus , to be frank, is politicians getting in the middle of it, and for once this time it was (in good intentions) "our" side's allies. Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco's mayor's all crazily threatened to not allow Chik-Fil-A to expand into their towns. Like there can honestly be a law for that. As much as I cannot stand the company, unless there are clear violations of business law going on (and there may be on the lines of that with it's abuse of women employees), you cannot justify barring them, and since these mayors only took the GLBT issue at hand with the company, the passive public of course would naturally bristle as an affront to free enterprise. So I really think that besides the good intentions, these mayors did more harm than good.

What they did was feed the fire of the sordid lazy underbelly of conservative wacko punditry that leeches like Huckabee, Santorum, and Palin cling to, like barnacles. Once they got their easy talking-points down (they're attacking freedom), these fucktards are gettin' paid to tramp around chowing down on some good old fast food. (How's that diet going for ya, Huckabee?) So of course it's a no-brainer that these loons used their Facebook/Twitter sheeple to spread the word to go chow down at the Chik-Fil-A today, which they gleefully did in numbers that were large enough to create queues in the drive-thru like it was a gas station in 1979. These carnival barkers don't really have any wide-range intellect or promise, so they rely on the knee-jerk "otherisms" to continue their DC version of reality-show fame, spewing off opinions and vitriol like a annoyed cat.

And you know, it is sad to see the lines, which I did driving to get gas for the car on lunch hour. These people (all "white meat", of course), waiting their turn (because God forbid these Jazzy-Chair shitholes walk in to the place) all to tell us "uppity gays" that they have a say in our lives, and by Seacrest they will use it. But the thing is, this will pass. They will move on to another thing to gripe about, and Chik-Fil-A will again be just another B-list grease joint doling out diabetes.

What I'm really sad for is the fact that I know that in every one of these fucktard sheeples' lives there's a gay, lesbian, bi, or transgender person in their lives, possibly even their own children, that are really hurt by this. Reenforced of the fact that their being is worthless to these people. That they are not just second-class, but horrible, immoral, animals, and they deserve nothing but ridicule and scorn. And that is what is the worst thing about Chik-Fil-A's corporate morality, and this is why I fight it.

Peace.
