Disco Dessert 11/21/20 - "Village People" from the Village People...

 

 

"Village People" was a massive club hit for the group Village People, put together by producer Jacques Morali. Appearing on their self-titled debut album, the song was written by Morali with Henri Belolo, Phil Hurtt, and Paul Whitehead. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the Village People album charted as a single entry with all cuts listed as "key cuts". There the record spent seven weeks at #1.
