Disco Dessert 10/3/20 - "MacArthur Park Suite" from Donna Summer...

 

 

"MacArthur Park Suite" was a huge club and radio hit from the Queen of Disco, the late Donna Summer. A medley of the classic Jimmy Webb song, "Heaven Knows" with the group Brooklyn Dreams (which included her husband Bruce Sudano), and "One Of A Kind", the suite was included in her double-album Live and More. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the extended single spent five weeks at #1 in 1978. "MacArthur Park" also topped Billboard's pop chart, while "Heaven Knows" got to #4.

In 2013, new remixes of "MacArthur Park" by Rosabel returned the song to the dance chart, again going all the way to #1...
