Disco Dessert 10/13/20 - "Armed And Extremely Dangerous" from Abbe...

 

 

"Armed and Extremely Dangerous" was a club hit for Brooklyn-born singer/actress Abbe (Lane). Appearing on her album Rainbows, the song was a cover of the pre-disco hit for First Choice in 1973. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the Rainbows album charted as a single entry, with "Armed and Extremely Dangerous" and "Thunder and Lightning" (a cover of another early 70s hit from Chi Coltrane) listed as key cuts. The record peaked at #81 there in 1980. Abbe was married to renowned band leader Xavier Cugat for a couple years when she was really young in the early 1950's, and was 48 when this came out.
