Disco Dessert 10/10/20 - "Le Freak" from Chic...

 

 

"Le Freak" was a massive club and radio hit for iconic disco band Chic. Appearing on their C'est Chic album, the song was written and produced by the group's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the C'est Chic album was listed as a single entry, with "Le Freak", "I Want Your Love", and "Chic Cheer" listed as key cuts. The record topped the list for an amazing seven weeks in 1978.

In 1987, a new remix of the song, rechristened "Jack Le Freak", went to #15 on Billboard's Dance chart, and #19 on the British singles list....
