"Pop Musik" was a massive radio and club hit for British artist Robin Scott, who recorded under the moniker M. Appearing on his debut album New York-Paris-London-Munich, Robin wrote and produced the track, which featured backup vocals from Brigit Novik. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the single peaked #4, while topped the American pop (music) Hot 100. The album also reached the chart as a whole in 1980, climbing to #38.
