Disco Dessert 2/26/19 - "K-Jee" from M.F.S.B....

"K-Jee" was a club hit for the "house" band for Philadelphia International's Sigma Sound Studios, M.F.S.B.. Appearing on their Universal Love album, the song was an instrumental cover of a song from soul group the Nite-Liters from 1971 that was written by Charlie Hearndon and producer Harvey Fuqua. The song climbed to #18 on the Disco/Dance Tracks chart in Billboard magazine in 1975. It also was featured in the movie Saturday Night Fever, where its appearance on the soundtrack guaranteed royalties for years to come.
