Today's song of the day comes from the alternative rock back Toad The Wet Sprocket, who scored their first top-40 pop hit in the fall of 1992 with "All I Want". The second physical single from the record was another folksy single, "Walk On The Ocean". Written by the band's lead singer Glen Phillips and guitarist Todd Nichols, the waltz-like reflection on life while trying to get away from it...
"Walk On The Ocean" became Toad The Wet Sprocket's second top-40 pop hit in January of 1993. The song also climbed to #27 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart, and crossed over to #31 on their Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") format tally. Internationally, the single rose to #10 in Norway, and made the top-40 in Canada (#22), and the Netherlands (#22).
