Disco Dessert 9/21/18 - "September" from Earth, Wind & Fire...
What else could I serve up this 21st night of September?
"September" was released in 1978 as the second "bonus track" single on The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol 1 from the superstar pop/funk/soul/rock band Earth, Wind & Fire. Written by the group's leader Maurice White, guitarist Al McKay, and songwriter Allee Willis, the wall of disco goodness became the biggest month to hit the chart, reaching #1 on Billboard's R&B chart, and #8 on the pop Hot 100. However somehow and someway this song never made the magazine's Disco/Dance Singles chart, so I don't know what shenanigans happened, but they happened.
