Today's Song of the Day is by the female rock band the Go-Go's, who by 1984 had two top-10 albums with a top-10 pop single each under their belt. Their last top-10 hit, the title track to their sophomore set Vacation, was back in 1982. After a year break, where drummer Gina Schock underwent heart surgery, the group released their third album Talk Show. The first single from the set was the ebullient "Head Over Heels", written by guitarist Charlotte Caffey and bassist Kathy Valentine and produced by Martin Rushent...

"Head Over Heels" peaked right under the pop top-10 in May of 1984, while also making the top-40 of the American rock and Canadian pop charts. It has always been by favorite Go-Go's song.
