Rock Sweep: July 27, 2013...

I'm up to part two of this week's "chart sweeps" where I sample the songs making Billboard magazine's radio charts, and now it's time for the latest on rock radio...

On the all-inclusive Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons hold down the top spot for an incredible 20th week with "Radioactive"...

Rocketing in at #12 is Pearl Jam with their new track "Mind Your Manners", a preview of their upcoming tenth studio set Lightning Bolt. It's my "Rock Pick Of The Week"...

Scottish modern rock outfit Franz Ferdinand return at #43 with "Right Action"...

The last entry on the big rock chart is Canadian post-grunge band Three Days Grace with "Misery Loves My Company"...

Now onwards to the rock radio formats sub-charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Pop Evil remains at #1 for a third week with "Trenches", while the aforementioned "Mind Your Manners" is the top new entry at #23....

The other new song here at #40 is Australian hard rock band Airbourne with "Live It Up". In 2007 they made it to #16 with "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast"...

Meanwhile, on the Modern Rock/Alternative chart, The Neighbourhood stay on top for an eighth non-consecutive week with "Sweater Weather", and the highest debut at #22 is again Pearl Jam with "Mind Your Manners"...

British neo-progressive rock group Muse return at #39 with the third American single from their 2nd Law album, "Follow Me"....

Also arriving with the third single from their album is folk-rock trio the Lumineers with "Submarines"....

Across at the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Walk Off The Earth remain at #1 for a fourth week with "Red Hands"...

The sole new debut here at #29 is Alaskan modern rock act Portugal, The Man with "Purple Yellow Red and Blue"...

On the harder-edged "Active Rock" radio panel, the aforementioned "Trenches" sticks around at #1 for a third frame, while Pearl Jam is the only entry at #27...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock chart, Alice In Chains climb to #1 with "Stone", while "Mind Your Manners" leaps in at #11 and the aforementioned Three Days Grace track pulls in at #20...

I'll be back in an hour and a half with the newest on R&B radio. Rock on!
