This week there are ten new songs on my chart (highlighted in green), and here they are, along with a little about the artist, with links to their previous hits on video in purple...

The top debut on my list this week belongs to British rockers Muse, who had their breakthrough moment in 2009 with their worldwide smash "Uprising". I'm excited for their upcoming album, The 2nd Law, and the second single (and first on my list here) is the George Michael Faith-ish "Madness"...

Another album I'm really stoked about is the long-awaited return of quiet storm goddess Anita Baker, whose last non-seasonal studio album was 2004's My Everything. She's already in the Billboard R&B top-40, where she went to #1 twice in 1988, with "Giving You The Best That I Got" and "Just Because". Here's hoping the same for "Lately", her cover of a song by singer/model Tyrese from 1999...

House music legend Richard "Humpty" Vission is originally from Canada, and he's been a force on the dance music scene since the early 90s, both with his own work as well as remixing other artists' songs. In 2009 he topped the US Dance chart with "I Like That" featuring British singer Luciana, and the both team up again for "When It Feels This Good"...

Pan-Asian girl group Blush had their first #1 dance hit earlier this year with "Dance On", and they follow that up with "All Stars"...

Now that the X Factor is back in America in its trainwreck season, it's only fitting that one of the UK version's biggest talents comes on to my list. It's Rebecca Ferguson, who lost out to Matt Cardle in the seventh season there, but her debut album, Heaven, is amazing, and her single "Nothing's Real But Love" has found a home on Adult R&B radio and dance clubs in the States. I do have quite a big grudge, though, that her label hasn't released the club mixes to the song so her fans can buy. What the hell's with that, guys?

Let me say it: Rascal Flatts is the Nickelback of country music. nobody really wants to admit they love them, let alone being their favorite band. I'm quite fine for my affection for the group, just as for my craving for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Their tenacity has rewarded them with an even dozen #1 country hits on Billboard, my fave of those being 2006's "What Hurts The Most". They are back with the second single from their latest album, Changed, "Come Wake Me Up"...

I guess the swelling furor over who Nicki Minaj supports in the upcoming election (or rather, who her handlers put out that she does), so we all can relax now. Meanwhile, the adult ritalin advertisement follows her gayby-adoring smash "Starships" with the equally festive "Pound The Alarm"...

Country singer Jake Owen is another of those unassuming, pleasant voices that's had a consistent but non-stellar career, but he is on a streak, followup two #1 hits ("Barefoot Blue Jean Night" and "Alone With You") with his latest, "The One That Got Away", another enjoyable ditty but one I don't think I can hum from memory a year from now...

On the other hands, you have acts that may not last until last year. Case in point: British group Sam & The Womp, a trio of unknowns put together probably for the brass-filled dance novelty confection "Bom Bom". You may recognize the song from the Southern Comfort commercials (not the guy on the beach one, the "juke joint bus" one). It's flashy, kooky (funny Bjork-ish vocals), and totally fluffy, all the things a good one-hit wonder should be. It's even got a special dance to it, what more can you ask for?

DJ/producer Tiesto is from southern Holland, and he's risen to the level of one of the 21st century's biggest progressive house DJs and EDM musicians out there, between awesome mixes like Gotye's recent "Somebody That I Used To Know" rework to his originals like 2009's "Feel It". This time he's paired with Californian DJ Wolfgang Gartner, who's had some dope electrohouse jam's like "Forever", and featuring another appearance by vocalist Luciana (see Richard Vission's track above), who scored a #1 dance hit with "I'm Still Hot" (with had a version with none other than Betty White). Their collective latest is "We Own The Night", and the video has cameos from sixteen world-class DJs, from David Guetta to Avicii to Armin Van Buuren...

That wraps it up for the new songs...by the way one song re-enters, Brazilian Gusttavo Lima's "Balada", thanks to its club remixes, one of which is right here...

Well, thanks again for coming, check back tomorrow for another "song of the day", candletime, and this week's five-part "chart sweeps" of the new songs making their way on the Billboard singles charts. Cheers!
