Dance Sweep: October 6, 2012...
Hey guys, thanks for hanging in there with my delayed schedule, and I'm closing this night's "chart sweeps" of the Billboard charts with the latest dance hits on the radio and in the clubs.
On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, swag-pop duo Karmin snag their second #1 hit with "Hello"...
The top new song this week is by R&B/pop singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, with his latest, "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)" at #33. He's topped the club chart twice before, with "Closer" in 2008 and "Beautiful Monster" in 2010, and since 1) he's due for his 2-year pattern and 2) this song has the positive anthemic quality that the dancefloor needs right now, it's looking good for him to make it a hat trick...

Art-rock diva and septuagenarian Yoko Ono has topped the dance charts nine times, more than anybody but Madonna, Janet, Donna, and Whitney. It's even crazier when you realize the first of these nine came when she was 70. Her latest, "I'm Moving On", is an album track of the classic John Lennon/Yoko Ono 1980 album Double Fantasy, and it's been mixed by Ralphi Rosario, Papercha$er, and Sted-E & Hybrid Heights, and it jumps in at #39...
....and on the other end of the spectrum at #44 is comedian/talk show host/eternal fruit fly Kathy Griffin with her theme song, "I'll Say It". This song has more processing than Velveeta, but fuck it all, it's Kathy...
Canadian electronica act and Front Line Assembly spinoff Delerium have three #1 club hits to their name so far - "Silence 2004", "Angelicus", and "Dust In Gravity". They're one of my faves and the return after two years at #47 with "Monarch" featuring vocalist Nadina..
and at #49 is PSY with his meme of the moment, "Gangnam Style"....he also is the high entry on the Dance Airplay chart at #13...
and rounding it out at #50 is trumpeter/singer David Longoria, who had a top-20 dance hit in 2005 with "Deeper Love" feautring CeCe Peniston. He's back with the Latin style of "Zoon Baloomba"..
Meanwhile on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Zedd featuring Matthew Koma top the list for the first time with "Spectrum"...
Chicago DJ/producer Kaskade has been at #1 three times on the airplay chart, the last time in 2010 with "Dynasty". He's back at #20 with "Lessons In Love" featuring Neon Trees, who popped onto the chart with "Animal" in 2010 as well..
and at #24 is Scotsman Calvin Harris with Example on "We'll Be Coming Back". Harris just topped the airplay chart with "Let's Go", his third #1 in a row, and Example had a top-10 here last year with "Kickstarts"...
And finally on the Global Dance Tracks chart, Rihanna gets dethroned by the Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child"...
The top entry here at #27 is the revamp of Michael Jackson's "Bad" for the 25th anniversary rerelease with an added cameo by rapper Pitbull. The similiar job on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" in 2008 with Akon made this chart's top-20...
Another chart champ, Mariah Carey, enters at #31 with her new one, "Triumphant (Get 'Em)". "Touch My Body" in 2008 peaked at #7 here for her...
The last arrival on the Global chart is by Portuguese/French singer Lucenzo who rode the Angolan dance hit "Danza Kuduro" to the top-10 last year. He's back at #38 at #38 with "Wine It Up" featuring Sean Paul, who also made the top-10 in 2011 supporting Bob Sinclar on "Tik Tok"...
Well, that does it for the five parts today. Thanks again for coming by, and tomorrow I'll be bringing you another Song of the Day, Candletime, Part One of this week's "Album Sweeps", and the newest in the UK on Brit Sweep. Good night!
