Soul Sweep: September 8, 2012...

It's time now for part three of today's "chart sweeps" bringing you the newest music hitting the charts at Billboard magazine. This time out it's the latest at R&B/HipHop and Adult R&B radio.

On the main R&B/HipHop chart, "No Lie" by 2 Chainz stays at #1 for a fourth week.

The highest debut this week is by Marcus Canty, who came in fourth in the first season of X Factor in America. His first minor hit, "Won't Make A Fool Out Of You" came from the Think Like A Man movie earlier this year, and the followup, "In And Out", comes in at #82. It features rapper Wale, who topped the R&B chart last year with "Lotus Flower Bomb"...

Nicki Minaj enters at #93 with the sixth song from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded set to make the R&B chart. Minaj has topped the R&B list once so far as a lead artist, with "Moment 4 Life" from her debut album. "I Am Your Leader" features rappers Cam'ron (who went to #1 in 2002 with "Oh Boy") and Rick Ross (who claimed a #1 credit on DJ Khaled's "I'm On One" last year)...(NFSW)

The other new song on the R&B/HipHop chart is the sole entry on the Adult R&B radio list (where R. Kelly's "Feelin' Single" takes over the #1 spot). It's by Canadian singer Melanie Fiona, who topped the R&B/HipHop and the Adult R&B charts in 2009 with the Grammy-nominated "It Kills Me". Her latest, "Wrong Side Of A Love Song", comes in at #96 on the main chart and #34 on the Adult R&B list...

That covered it on the R&B side, catch me back in 90 minutes and I'll bring you the new music on the country chart. Groove on!
