Kraut Sweep: September 11, 2012...

Good evening, folks, it's time to check out the latest music selling over in Germany, according to their official weekly music charts. This week Asaf Avidan & The Mojos hang on for a fourth week at #1 with "One Day/Reckoning Song [Wankelmut Remix]"...

Xavier has been on the German music scene since the mid-90's, and has racked up three #1 single credits, his last being 2008's "Das hat die Welt noch nicht gesehen" ("That The World Hasn't Seen Yet") with Sohne Mannheims. Savas has placed two songs at #5 in Germany, with "One" in 2005 being his biggest.  They are recording together as Xavas (a combo of their names), and their first single "Schau nicht mehr zurück" ("Don't Look Back") rockets in at #2...

Another record comes in all the way near the top - it's French DJ/producer David Guetta, who has topped the German charts in 2009 with "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon. "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)" enters at #4 and features singer/songwriter Sia, who guested on Guetta #5 hit "Titanium" and Flo Rida's #6 "Wild Ones" in the past twelve months...

Canadian teen heartthrob Justin Bieber has yet to have a top-10 hit in Germany, his best so far being his debut, "One Time" back in 2009. He tries again with his US top-10 hit "As Long As You Love Me" which comes in at #49 and features rapper Big Sean in his first appearance in this country...

Speaking, of Beiber, one of his fans, Swiss singer Luca Hanni, who won season 9 of Germany's version of American Idol, had a #1 single here with "Don't Think About Me" in April. He's back at #54 with "I Will Die For You"...

German group Stereolove is comprised of the members of the pop/rock band Reamonn (minus their lead singer Rea Garvey) along with singer Thomas Hanreich. They score their first hit single at #76 with "What If (I Want To Go Home)"...

The final debut belongs to the British neo-prog band Muse with their latest hit, "Madness", and after coming on the American, British, French, and Australian charts, we finally have a brand new video! Woohoo!
