Dance Sweep: September 8, 2012...






Thanks again for coming back, it's time now to bring you the last installment of this weeks "chart sweeps" of the new music making their way onto the weekly Billboard sales and airplay charts. Right now it's the latest dance songs in the clubs, on the radio, and around the world.

On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, Madonna gets her 43rd #1 hit (the most of any artist) with "Turn Up The Radio".

The big debut here is rapper Pitbull, who has had a single #1 on the dance chart as a lead artist with "International Love" last year, although he's guested on six more chart toppers. This time out Shakira is the featured artist Shakira (who has five #1 dance hits of her own) on "Get It Started" at #38...

American electronica duo Madison Park have had three previous dance hits, with 2004's "Ocean Drive" making it to #12. They return with Dutch producer/DJ Beechkraft for "Sunrise" at #44...


Israeli singer/comedian Meital (Dohan) comes in at #49 with "On Ya", featuring reggae-fusion singer Sean Kingston, who topped the chart as a featured artist on Natasha Bedingfield's "Love Like This"...


And bringing it up at #50 is Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris with British musician Example on "We'll Be Coming Back". Harris previously topped the dance chart backing Rihanna on "We Found Love", while Example was in the top-20 in the spring with "Changed The Way You Kiss Me"...


Meanwhile over on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo spend a ninth week at the top with "Let's Go".

The big debut on the radio list is Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" at #20. She's been at #1 on this chart twice, with "U + Ur Hand" and "So What"...


R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is at #1 now with "Let's Go", and he also scored an airplay #1 back in 2008 with "Closer", and he comes in at #21 with "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)"..


and at #24 is Justin Bieber, with "As Long As You Love Me", featuring Big Sean. He previously made the top-10 with "Boyfriend"....


And over on the Global Dance Songs chart, Rihanna spends a sixth week at #1 with "Where Have You Been".

The high entry this week is Madonna, who has topped this list three previous times, the last time with "Girl Gone Wild". She returns at # 35 with the current US #1 dance club song, "Turn Up The Radio"...


Kelly Clarkson scored a top-20 hit on the Global list in 2009 with "My Life Would Suck Without You". She's back at #36 with another US #1 club hit, "Dark Side"...


Finally at #39 is Nicki Minaj, who had a #1 hit on this chart earlier this year with "Starships". Her latest is another bouncy number, "Pound The Alarm"..
