Country Sweep: October 6, 2012...

I'm back with part four of this week's "chart sweeps" of the new songs on this week's music charts on Billboard magazine. This time out it's the latest on country radio.

On the Hot Country Songs chart, Jason Aldean jumps into the #1 spot with "Take A Little Ride".

The big debut this week is by Brad Paisley, who leaps onto the chart at #25 with "Southern Comfort Zone". He's racked up an impressive 18 number one songs from 1999's "He Didn't Have To Be" to last year's "Remind Me". Besides it's relatively progressive slant for a popular country hit, this is by far Paisley's most rock and least "pure country" single to date...

Another neo-country veteran, Faith Hill comes on to the chart at #57 with her latest, "American Heart". She's topped the chart nine times, from 1993's "Wild One" to 2005's "Mississippi Girl". The new song is the second so far from her upcoming 2013 album Illusion...now I love her, but honestly, meh.

The last entry is by newcomer JT Hodges, who made the country top-40 last year with "Hunt You Down", and is back at #60 with "Sleepy Little Town"...

That's it for the country part of the world, stay tuned as I wrap this thing up with the newest dance hits on the radio and in the clubs. Twang on!
