"You Gave Me Love" was a club hit for the soul/funk band from Brooklyn, Crown Heights Affair. Appearing on their album Sure Shot, the song was written by Ida Reid and produced by Bert Decoteaux. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top 100 chart, the single peaked at #12 in 1980, spending a hefty 23 weeks on the list. It also made the British top ten at #10.
