twostepcub's music chart for May 29, 2020...

Friday is here again, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. The Weeknd stays on top for a second week, while Kentucky rockers Cage The Elephant (pictured above) climb a notch in the top ten. Songs from Anabel Englund, Usher/Ella Mai, and Sam Hunt make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Justin Timberlake/SZA, Dua Lipa, Dustin Lynch, and Kygo/Avicii drop out. And at the end everything is playlisted on Spotify to check out. What year is this again?

There are ten songs making their debut on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them, you'll connect to that artist's official website for more info. And here they are on video, after the break...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The highest debut of the week belongs to German DJ/producer (Tobias) Topic, who scores his first hit with "Breaking Me" featuring Swedish singer A7S at #73...

Pearl Jam is back at #76 with the second hit from their new album Gigaton, "Superblood Wolfmoon". It follows "Dance Of The Clairvoyants", which made my top-40...

Glass Animals, an alternative rock band from Oxford, England, land their first hit on my chart at #78 with "You Love (Deja Vu)"...

Heavy metal band Bad Wolves pour in at #86 with "Sober", the second hit from their sophomore album N.A.T.I.O.N. ...

Hip-hop newcomer Megan Thee Stallion gets a boost on to my chart at #90 with the Beyonce'-enhanced version of her single, "Savage"...

British DJ/producer Nathan Dawe and rapper Jaykae plant themselves at #91 with "Flowers". It's a remake of a single from Sweet Female Attitude that went to #2 in the UK in 2000...

Also from the UK at #96 is indie-pop band The Blossoms with their single "If You Think This Is Real Life", from the British #1 album Foolish Loving Spaces...

British "drill" rapper AJ Tracey invites himself on to the list at #97 with "Dinner Guest" featuring Mostack...

At #98 is the superstar quarantine pairing of Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber for "Stuck With U"...

S1mba, another British "grime drill" rapper, drives in at #99 with "Rover" featuring DTG...

And to tell the tea straight, there was short pickings to fit my "hit tunes" credentials, even allowing Drake's "Toosie Slide" to slip in at #100. What are music lovers listening to now?
