"El Velero" was a European club hit for the late Italian singer/songwriter Lucio Battisti. The disco-fied Spanish version of a Italian track from his 1976 album Lucio Battisti, la batteria, il contrabbasso eccetera, the song originally was "Il Veliero" ("The Sailing Ship"), which went to #3 on the Italian singles charts. It never made the disco charts in America, but was a hugely popular dancefloor song in Continental Europe.
