"Give It To Me Baby" was a club and radio hit for singer/songwriter/producer/funk legend Rick James. Appearing on his album Street Songs, the song was written, performed, and produced by James. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the Street Songs album charted as one entry, with "Give It To Me Baby", "Super Freak", and "Ghetto Life" listed as key cuts. The record spent three weeks at #1 there and lingered on the list for a hefty eight months (32 weeks). "Give It To Me Baby" also topped the R&B chart for 5 weeks as well in 1981.
